Hi my name is Anjelica Johnson, I’m a freshmen at UCF and I ride on the
western team. I was born and raised in Wellington Florida so horses
have aways been a part of my life. I began riding at the age of 6, I
started out as a hunter jumper, till I was about 12. When I got my
first horse Sable, I did mostly english pleasure and trails. I have
done a lot of volunteer work with PMU horses and rescues. I have
fostered ex-race horses and worked with PMU foals. During high school
I got into dressage and a dressage based mounted drill team. I trained
my mom’s green broke warmblood Flair and he is now my horse and I miss
him so much. I have the best bond with my gelding now after I trained
him. I do drill and dressage with him. I can load him and take him anywhere. He has taught me so much about horse behavior and that not
everything your trainer says a horse can’t do is true. I can’t wait
for breaks so i can go back and enjoy him. I’m majoring in biology and I have plans to go on to vet school after I get my BA. I want to become
an equine vet and specialize in lameness and genetics. I hope to have a
practice in Kentucky and work with racehorses. I joined the western
team to be with my friends and I can’t wait to show with them. I hope
everyone has a great and safe show season this year!
