Hi my name is Amanda Lord and I’m from Fort Lauderdale Florida. I am currently a junior at UCF and majoring in Elementary Education. Riding horses is a passion of mine and I have been riding since I was 10. When I was 12 I got a horse of my own named “Lucky”. We were a great team; we did very well together in many local shows, 4-H and even in the appaloosa circuit, he taught me everything and made it possible for me to make it out to the youth worlds in Oklahoma City. I can ride both English and western but I prefer western, which is why I am currently on the western team. Unfortunately, when I was moving away to college “Lucky” went blind in his left eye. He was my first horse ever and I knew I would never be able to sell him and see others riding him, so I donated him to Freedom Ride in Orlando to work as a therapeutic horse for handicap children. He is great at it and I am still able to go out ride and spoil him as much as I would like! I wish all of the teams the best of luck this show season.
